Our History

From small beginnings on a working Suffolk farm, our family life has seen many changes over the years. Originally a mixed farm with land, pigs, cattle, hens and later pick your own strawberries, Windmill Lodges has seen four generations of my family living here starting with my grandparents who moved here in 1954, then my parents and now to the present day with my husband John and myself who live here with our five boys. Changes in farming, led my parents to decide to pursue a new business venture - Windmill Lodges - holiday lets in authentic log cabins, which were built on what were the strawberry fields.

In 2011, eleven years after the first log cabin was built, John and I bought the holiday let business from my parents and we very much look forward to continue to develop and strengthen the business, always keeping in mind that our guests comfort and wellbeing are paramount. I have been the letting manager at Windmill Lodges for the last eight years and value highly the personal touches we are able to offer our guests due to us being a small family run business with a valued team of staff.

We now have seven log cabins fully equipped and furnished with their own private hot tubs providing a wonderful base from which to visit the area's many attractions.
